W04 - Choosing a Site and Host

A lot of information to sift through this week about which Site builder to use and then which Host to use.  There are many options to choose from, but for this course, I choose to go Weebly since I can Build and Host with the same platform.  Plus, as a site builder, the platform will require less learning curve to get up and going (plus there a ton of YouTube videos that I can follow to set this site up the way I want).        My biggest concern will be getting the product to be drop shipped like I want - hunting down Wholesalers for Board Games is a little tougher than I thought, so I'm going to need to spend more time researching and applying to various wholesaler websites.  I want to get something close here in the US so that the shipping times won't be so long.     Overall, I'm enjoying what I'm learning.  I already setup my Weebly account and named my website "MountainTop Gamez" - www.mountaintopgamez...

W03 - Journal Entry

I have actually really enjoyed this week in MKT250.   We learned about Affiliate Marketing and Drop Shipping as options to use for an online business.  I have dabbled in this online business stuff off and on over the years, and the information I learned in this course have helped me to understand more clearly what I would be getting myself into choosing either option as a business.  One of the main things that really peeked my interest was that if you're involved with drop shipping, you need to be on the lookout for FRAUD.  If I were to pursue this, I would want to learn more about how to prevent fraud and those that are trying to return items for fraudulent reasons. For Affiliate marketing, something I thought of that needed more research was to find out how to wrap your affiliate link into something that does not appear to be an affiliate link.  The one write up I read mentioned that when people see these links, they tend to bypass it and just go to...

W02 - Journal Entry

W02 - Journal Entry for MKT250     I will admit, trying to make a decision on a business has been one of my greatest obstacles, even before I started taking this class.  My wife paid for a course last year for starting up an online business selling goods online, and we still haven't come to a determination of what exactly we want to do.  Our indecisiveness has really become a big roadblock for us.     Now, I have the opportunity in this class to go through a decision matrix that should be of great benefit to me, not only to choose a business for this class, but to learn the skills and generate the ideas my wife and I need to start something up on our own as well.     I've learned quite a bit already with the Google Ad Words assignment.  I feel this information will be very key to me in picking something that will yield positive results and will be the best method for reducing the risk in starting up an online website rather than just ta...
